Overview
This 28-liter cooler keeps ice (or ice packs) frozen for several days with its thick PU insulated walls and single-piece roto-molded construction. Built to last trip after trip, the Dometic CI 28 is packed with smart features: extra-strong PU insulated walls to keep cold in and heat out, convenient one-hand-release rubber latches, and a tray for safe and dry storage of fruits and snacks. About 335 mm tall inside, the CI 28 can easily store wine or Champaign bottles upright. Two carrying options accommodate every situation: loop handle with ergonomic grip or super-sturdy handles recessed into the sides. For extra-functionality, there’s a clever accessory dock for such practical essentials like a bottle opener, cup holder or fishing rod holder.

This was a bit of a disappointment in several ways.
Cooling: I used large frozen ice blocks (x6) in âpre-chilled box. I added ready cooled items, and closed securely for the journey and didn’t open until the following morning. Only the 2 blocks at the bottom were semi frozen. The trip was not a very hot or sunny one, (rainy Devon) and I had my cooler in the shade all the time, but I was still needing to refresh all the liquefied ice blocks, every two days.
Carrying: Oh my goodness … strap + giant cube is ridiculously clumsy. Other reviews had mentioned it and I foolishly decided I could manage … nope.
Container: It arrived with no internal little container (3rd photo -advertised container pic). Passenger ✅ kindly offered me replacement or £10 . As I was off camping straight away, I took their offer of £10… but I really missed the little container.
Colour: The colour in the online Passenger store is a lovely, slightly mustard-y yellow (1st photo), which I absolutely loved and wanted - as opposed to the vibrant sunshine orangey-yellow cube I received (2nd photo). Other company’s advertise the sunshine colour Dometic cooler, so it’s not my phone settings at fault. I assumed Passenger had their own fab mustardy yellow version… nope.
Closures: The closing system is actually really brilliant.
Containment: Yes, it fitted wine/bubbly bottles etc, beautifully .
